Ho fatto tre film con Maurizio Zaccaro. Questa parte e stata la piu coinvolgente per che la prima domanda che un attore si fa e “Chi sono io”….ma in questo caso era difficile, dicciamo, quasi impossibile capirlo. Per due settimane ho tempestato di domande il regista ma lui mi ha risposto “Non devi fare una scelta, devi trovare la verita in ogni scena”. Quella e la verita delle emotione, non la verita storica. Secondo me questo film non ha la pretesa di stabilire la verita, ma solo raccontare una storia appossionante. Una storia piena di dolore, disperazione, di speranza e di amore, quindi di sentimenti contrastanti. L´aspetto su cui mi sono concentrato e´ il momento dell´arrivo dello smemorato in manicomio. Lui voleva suicidarsi e questa sufferenza e stata l´emotiozione piu importante per me.

Gualtiero Burzi plays RENZO CANELLA, my brother.
Who would not like to live in a big villa and listen to violins at the lake side? We were dancing tango and went for a boat trip…I got a first taste of my new life as a rich man ( and ate lots of Tiramisu).
Having left the Manicomio for the first time the contrast to the world of poverty and pain the SMEMORATO left behind could not be bigger. Rich people live in another universe, they eat deliceous food, they wear expensive clothes, they are a different species altogether….how could BRUNERI possibly convince them that he was one of them?
Well…probably he did not convince them. Nevertheless, they all pretended he was CANELLA to save the family name. I guess, he was used as an instrument in a political intrigue and protected by the fascists.
FRANCESCO CANELLA, the father of GIULIA was a powerful man, he returned from Brasil to take care of this affair. He is played by Maurizio Marchetti, who found time to recite some poetry while we were waiting and thus joined the competition ACTORS ON SETS….

Chi non vorrebbe vivere in una grande villa e ascoltare i violini in riva al lago? Stavamo ballando un tango e facendo una gita in barca… assaporavo l’inizio della mia nuova vita da uomo ricco ( e mangiavo molto Tiramisù).
Avendo lasciato il Manicomio per la prima volta, il contrasto con il mondo della povertà e del dolore che lo SMEMORATO lasciava dietro di sé non poteva essere più grande. Le persone ricche vivono in un altro universo, mangiano cibi deliziosi, vestono abiti costosi, sono una specie a se’… come poteva BRUNERI convincerli di essere uno di loro?
Bene, probabilmente lui non li convinse. Tuttavia, tutti fingevano che lui fosse CANELLA per salvare il nome della famiglia.
Io credo che lui sia stato usato in un intrigo politico e poi protetto dai fascisti.
FRANCESCO CANELLA, il padre di GIULIA era un uomo potente, che tornò dal Brasile per interessarsi dei suoi affari. E’ interpretato da Maurizio Marchetti, che ha trovato il tempo per recitare alcune poesie mentre stavamo aspettando, unendosi così alla competizione ActorsOnSets…

Actors On Sets is a web 2.0 competition for professional actors, who are in the process of shooting a movie or rehearsing a play. We invite the actor to improvise their own film within the film using their imagination and repertoire.
Very often actors will find themselves waiting for hours, dressed up in an elaborate costume and make-up,
sitting in their trailor or on a chair on set in spectacular panorama, beautiful landscapes or splendid architecture.
It is in these moments the actor can zip out his or her little camera and capture their take on what is happening around them spiced with humour, emotion and phantasy.
This digital video message will then be shared with logentheater viewers online all over the world.
We love the movies, we love the characters, we love to peek behind the scenes. With Actors On Sets we get the chance to peek into the actors imagination. These little pieces of art will only serve to enhance the viewers experience of the film and the actors performance in it.
The video clips will be presented in our digital theatre www.logentheater.de. The best one will be awarded the „O(ff)scar“ at the prestigeous AOS Awards and the winner will be invited to three nights in a stylish luxury hotel in HVAR (Kroatia).
Actors On Sets è una competizione basata sulla tecnologia web 2.0 per attori professionisti che stanno girando un film o preparando un opera teatrale. Invitiamo gli attori ad improvvisare i loro film all’interno del film a cui stanno lavorando usando la loro immaginazione e il loro repertorio.
Molto spesso gli attori si trovano ad attendere per ore, con addosso i loro costumi, truccati, siedono nei loro trailor o su una sedia sul set sullo sfondo di panorami spettacolari, paesaggi meravigliosi o edifici stupefacenti.
È in questi momenti che l’attore può aprire la sua piccola videocamera e catturare ciò che sta accadendo intorno a lui arricchendolo con umorismo, emozioni e fantasia.
Questo video messaggio digitale sarà condiviso online con i visitatori del logentheater di tutto il mondo.
Noi amiamo i film, noi amiamo i personaggi, noi amiamo curiosare dietro le quinte. Con Actors on Sets abbiamo l’opportunità di sbirciare dentro l’immaginazione degli attori. Questi piccoli pezzi d’arte servono solo per accrescere nei visitatori l’esperienza del film e il ruolo degli attori al suo interno. ...the truth lies in the eyes of the beholder, however, after two years of back and forth the court finally agreed that LO SMEMORATO was BRUNERI
the task at hand is to understand the genius self-deception of BRUNERI, who really believed HE WAS CANELLA….the only way out of the mess he had made of his life…
And that belief saved him! He never gave up on it, he never admitted to be BRUNERI.
FARINACCI ( SMEMORATO´s lawyer) with all his lies may have helped a little bit, but failed to save BRUNERI from prison, the judges could not be fooled (what really saved him in the end was LA GRAZIA di Vittorio Emmanuelle II)
Later his children with GIULIA were legalised…or was it only the church that accepted them?
BRUNERI´s life was finnished one way or the other, he had already lost his family and a had prison sentence awaiting him, so by pretending to be CANELLA he did not abandon his family…he had already abandoned it earlier, but when he got the chance to start again and invent himself again as a better person, he did. Neglecting his son was a cruel thing to do…but he had no more chance to live with him and be a father for him anyway.
It is a good thing having Maurizio pushing me to where the emotions are instead of just thoughts…using my head too much is a great danger

…la verità è sotto gli occhi dello spettatore, ad ogni modo, dopo 2 anni di tira e molla, il tribunale dichiarò che lo Smemorato fosse BRUNERI.
il punto fondamentale è capire la genialità dell’auto-inganno di BRUNERI, che davvero credeva DI ESSERE CANELLA….l’unica via d’uscita dalla confusione che lui aveva creato nella sua vita…
E questa convinzione lo salvò! Lui non smise mai di crederlo, mai ammise di essere BRUNERI.
FARINACCI (l’avvocato dello smemorato) con tutte le sue bugie lo aiutò un po’, ma fallì nel tentativo di salvare BRUNERI dalla prigione, infatti i giudici non poterono essere ingannati (chi davvero lo salvò alla fine fu la grazia di Vittorio Emanuele II).
Più tardi, i figli avuti con Giulia furono riconosciuti…o era solo la chiesa ad accettarli?
La vita di Bruneri era finita in un modo o nell’altro, aveva appena perso la sua famiglia e aveva una pena detentiva che lo attendeva. Ma attraverso la menzogna di essere Canella, lui non abbandonò la sua famiglia, che peraltro aveva già abbandonato in precedenza. Quando ottenne la possibilità di ricominciare e reinventarsi come una persona migliore, lo fece.
Abbandonare suo figlio era stata una cosa crudele, ma non aveva più alcuna possibilità di vivere con lui o comunque di essere suo padre.
E’ stato un bene per me che Maurizio mi abbia spinto più verso le emozioni che non verso i pensieri…la mia testa se usata troppo può diventare un grande pericolo…
